What is Bridging?
Updated over a week ago

Bridging: An overview

Cryptocurrency bridging refers to transferring assets between different blockchain networks (e.g., transferring funds between Ethereum Mainnet and Optimism). This process typically involves either using liquidity pools or creating wrapped assets to represent the value on the target blockchain, facilitating seamless asset exchange between the two networks. For example, if a user wanted to exchange USDC on Solana for USDC on Ethereum, they would need to utilise a bridge to transfer the USDC from Solana to Ethereum. The costs associated with bridging include the gas fee cost to execute the transaction, the bridging fee and gas to finalise the transaction on the corresponding chain.

Bridging with Infinex

Infinex currently offers bridging for USDC, with support for more tokens coming soon. Bridging on Infinex is completely free, with a daily limit of 10 bridges (3 on Ethereum Mainnet).
