How to use the Funds Recovery App
Updated over a month ago

The Infinex Funds Recovery App allows you to trigger the funds recovery process in the event you have lost access to your account. After authenticating yourself as the owner of your Infinex account, you can use the Funds Recovery App to invoke a smart contract function that transfers funds from your Infinex account to the recovery address that you set. Infinex covers the gas fee for this transfer.

Before using the Funds Recovery App, ensure that you currently have access to the recovery address that your Infinex account is linked to, on the destination network that your funds will be recovered to. Both of these details will be reflected in the UI. Once the Funds Recovery App has been triggered, your Infinex account will be disabled.

Steps to use the Funds Recovery App

  1. Create a ticket on our Support website and request the Recovery App. You will be provided a link to the official Infinex Recovery App site.

  2. Select your Authentication Method and click Continue with that Method

  3. Authenticate yourself using the selected Authentication Method

  4. Click on Recover Funds

  5. Confirm the details of your recovery, then click Recover Now

  6. Wait for the recovery to initiate and complete

  7. Repeat this process across all the different assets you need recovered

Recovery App FAQ

Can I recover an unsupported asset or from an unsupported network?

No. Assets that are not supported or are not on supported networks will not be recoverable unless integrated by Infinex.

How can I recover my Governance Points (GP)?

While GP will be recoverable in the future, it is not currently recoverable through the recovery app.

I no longer have access to my recovery authentication methods. What should I do?

Currently, you cannot add or edit recovery authentication methods to an Infinex account you no longer have passkey access to. This may change in the future. In the meantime, your funds remain 100% safe in your Infinex wallet.

I no longer have access to my recovery address/my recovery address has been compromised. What should I do?

Currently, you cannot edit recovery addresses to an Infinex account, or add recovery addresses to an Infinex account you no longer have access to. However, this is a functionality that the Infinex is currently looking into. In the meantime, your funds will remain 100% safe and secure within your Infinex account.

Can I recover assets to a chain or network I do not have a recovery address set for?

Currently, no. If you do not have a recovery address set for the network or chain that you are attempting to recover from, you cannot recover your funds on that network or chain. However, this is a functionality that the Infinex is currently looking into. In the meantime, your funds will remain 100% safe and secure within your Infinex account.

For example: If you have lost access to your Infinex account that held SOL tokens on the Solana network, you cannot recover these SOL tokens unless you had previously set a Solana recovery address.

My recovery has been initiated but my assets have not shown up in my recovery address. Why?

The recovery process can take up an hour based on the chain or network. If your recovery takes an extended period of time (12+ hours) please reach out to us through our support website.

My issue does not fall into the category of the ones listed above. What should I do?

Feel free to reach out via opening a ticket through our support website, where our friendly support team will respond to your enquiry through your preferred platform.
