How can I participate in the Infinex Community?
Updated over a week ago

As a decentralized platform, there are several ways to engage and interact with Infinex. This article will list some of the channels that any user can access in order to contribute to the Infinex community and to improve Infinex as a whole.

Social Media

Joining the Discord

One of the easiest ways to get involved with Infinex is to join our official Discord server, linked here. Joining the Discord server allows you to access a variety of essential Infinex-related materials first-hand, such as important announcements, updates to the platform, and governance AMAs. In addition to this, the server is home to the largest group of Infinex users online and provides the relevant text and voice channels to discuss anything Infinex-related. Specialised roles with private chats are also available to the most active members of the server.

Following the official Infinex X (Formerly Twitter) Account

Another simple way to find out what is happening next with Infinex is to follow the official X (Formerly Twitter) account linked here.

Official Infinex Blog
The official Infinex blog page is linked here and contains a record of articles regarding Infinex campaigns and important updates.

Infinex Proposals

Proposal Status Guide

Draft: The initial state of a new XIP before the Infinex Council and CWG have assessed it.

In Review: a XIP that is being reviewed by the Infinex Council.

Vote in Progress: a XIP currently being voted on by the council.

Approved: a XIP that has successfully reached a majority Infinex Council vote in favor.

Implemented: a XIP that has been released and implemented.

Rejected: a XIP that has failed to reach a majority Infinex Council vote in favor.

Superseded: an approved XIP that has been superseded by a later approved or implemented XIP.

XIPs

XIPs are the primary mechanism for suggesting new features, collecting community input on an issue, documenting design decisions for changes to Infinex, and making adjustments to system parameters. A collective list of all XIPs, regardless of current status, can be found here.

Who can draft a XIP?

Anyone within the Infinex Community is welcome to draft a XIP and submit it for approval. However, XIPs are required to follow the standards set by XIP-1, and XIP-4 and are subject to a variety of assessment from members of the Infinex Community and Council. Thus, it is recommended that those looking to draft a XIP first discuss it within the Discord server (linked above) to raise support and attract attention to their proposal.

IRs

Infinex Referendums (IRs) are the mechanism for how meta-governance changes are made to the Infinex Protocol. A collective list of all IRs, regardless of current status, can be found here. In-depth information regarding IRs are detailed in IR-1.

Who can draft an IR?

Similar to XIPs, anyone within the Infinex community is welcome to submit an IR. However, to foster a collaborative environment, it is strongly encouraged that authors engage in discussions within the Infinex Discord community before formally submitting their proposals. This preliminary discourse allows for the exchange of ideas, feedback, and refinement of concepts, ultimately leading to more robust and well-considered IRs.

WGCs

Working Group Charters (WGCs) are a documentation type that outlines the establishment of a working group, defines its outcomes, and aligns expectations between the working group and the council. A collective list of WGCs, regardless of current status, can be found here. In-depth information regarding WGCs are detailed in WGC-1.

Who can draft a WGC?

Just like XIPs and IRs, anyone within the Infinex community is welcome to submit a WGC. However, to foster a collaborative environment, it is strongly encouraged that authors engage in discussions within the Infinex Discord community and directly negotiate with the Treasury and Operations Seats before formally submitting their charters. This preliminary discourse allows for the exchange of ideas, feedback, and refinement of concepts, ultimately leading to more robust and well-considered WGCs.

RCs

Release Candidates (RC) are a document that outlines a bundle of proposed changes for approval by the Infinex Council. A collective list of RCs, regardless of current status, can be found here. In-depth information regarding RCs are detailed in RC-1.

Who can draft a RC?

An RC can only be written by an established Working Group (WG), and each WG has a set cadence of RCs they need to follow.

TRFs

Treasury Requests for Feedback (TRF) are proposed initiatives from the Infinex Treasury Seat. A collective list of TRFs, regardless of current status, can be found here. In-depth information regarding TRFs are detailed in TRF-1.

Who can draft a TRF?

A TRF is written by the Treasury Seat with assistance from the Operations Seat as per TRF-1 and XIP-4.
