What is the Infinex Account?
Updated over a week ago

The Infinex Account allows you to access and interact with on-chain protocols available within the Infinex app. Think of your Infinex Account like a passport to DeFi.

What is the Infinex Account?

The Infinex account is a set of smart contracts on EVM chains and Solana, designed to simplify transaction signing and wallet management using a non-phishable passkey. As users access different chains through Infinex (e.g. through bridging or sending money), a new account contract is deployed on each chain accessed.

How does the Infinex Account work?

Turnkey provides users with the ability to generate a private key for signing that is not accessible to Infinex or Turnkey, making it non-custodial. This private key can only sign onchain transactions when unlocked by the users passkey and cannot be shared.

How is the Infinex Account different to a wallet?

Traditional wallets rely on a seed phrase, a long string of words that users must remember to access their wallet and sign transactions. However, these seed phrases are highly susceptible to phishing attacks, giving anyone who obtains them full control over the wallet. In contrast, the Infinex Account uses non-phishable passkeys, ensuring that private keys remain securely on your device and are never exposed.

Additionally, while traditional wallets are typically tied to a single blockchain, the Infinex Account is designed to operate across multiple chains, deploying a new account contract on each chain as users interact with them. This multi-chain capability, combined with secure key management through Turnkey, provides a more flexible, user-friendly, and secure experience compared to standard wallets.
