Why did my Swidge fail?
Updated over a month ago

Swidge, a portmanteau of swap-and-bridge allows users to Swap, Bridge, or both, all in a single process. Below are a list of common reasons why a Swidge transaction has failed, and how they might be resolved.

Slippage was set to be too low

Slippage is automatically preset by default, depending on the token pair that you are attempting to Swidge between. You can edit this by clicking on the widget when configuring your Swidge transaction. Setting the slippage too low may result in the Swidge failing, as the price of the tokens involved have changed beyond the slippage limit between the submitting of the transaction and the time it was accepted on the blockchain. To resolve this, you will need to fill out your Swidge again and reconfigure your slippage appropriately.

Swidge failed due to liquidity issues

Some token pairs may not have sufficient direct liquidity pools, and as such require your Swidge transaction to go through multiple transactions. This can result in Swidge transactions failing at one point of the process. An example of this is attempting to Swidge between two memecoins, such as Stonks ($STNK) and dogwifhat ($WIF). Your Swidge would start with swapping between $STNK and $USDC (a memecoin stablecoin pairing) and then swapping between $USDC and $WIF (another memecoin stablecoin pairing). In the scenario that the price of $WIF has fluctuated beyond the preset slippage range, the second swap transaction will not go through and the $USDC will be returned to your Infinex account. You can then attempt the Swidge again, between $USDC and $WIF with a new quote.

Cannot submit Swidge transaction (Price Volatility)

Attempting to Swidge from or into a token that is particularly volatile may result in an error informing you that the Swidge will not succeed. In this scenario, information regarding your slippage is also provided. To circumvent this, you will need to change your slippage manually in order to submit your transaction. Ensure you are aware of the ramifications of changing slippage.

Transaction has timed out (Network issues)

During times when a network is experiencing high levels of traffic, failures due to slippage become more common as Swidge transactions take longer to transact on the blockchain.

If Swidging from the Solana network, you can resolve this by toggling on 'Priority Mode' and attempt the Swidge again. Turning on 'Priority Mode' adds a priority fee to incentivise miners to pick up your transaction, increasing the likelihood of a successful transaction.
